![]() ![]() Steven and Connie mention the existence of a second Gem monster, which Amethyst hears with great anxiety. They bubble the Gem and send it back to the Temple. Amethyst surfs over and wraps her whip all around it, crushing it back into its Gem form. But the mood shifts from summer fun to summer seriousness when the brown Yeti Gem from “Gem Hunt” surfaces, growling and on the attack. Amethyst shifts into Lars and rolls into the store: “Hey Donut Girl! It’s me, Donut Boy… It’s cool! I totally work here!” They all eat donuts and soda together… then run through Beach City on the sugar high of a lifetime, chasing through flocks of seagulls on the boardwalk with Lion and enjoying the Ferris Wheel at Funland.Īmethyst even shifts into a boombox for Steven to carry onto the beach, and they all wind up splashing around in the ocean. She tells them they have to go with what’s in their guts - which are rumbling with hunger, so they go on a snack break to the Big Donut. Amethyst watches Steven and Connie practice on the beach in between naps, but comes up with some real advice when Connie frets over her stance and balance, still mortified over freezing up in her first mission.Īmethyst advises her that she’s just too in her own head. “Crack the Whip” begins with Pearl and Garnet heading out to investigate Jasper’s movements, leaving Amethyst to look after Steven - and Connie, whose sword training has to be postponed until next week. In week 3, we’ve seen that Definitely Not Lapis’ Abusive Ex Jasper is up to some disquieting hijinks in “Gem Hunt.” Now that Connie’s cleared to go on Gem missions, what’s next for Team Earth? Week 2 of “Steven’s Summer Adventures” gave us some time with Beach City citizenry before astonishing us with Jasper’s return. The “Summer of Steven” began July 18 and gave us six new episodes. The crack on Volleyball’s eye is due to the abuse caused by Pink Diamond. With all of Steven Universe season 3 dropping every weeknight for the next few weeks, the biggest Stevenbomb has launched into its third week. Volleyball was Pink Diamond’s original pearl before the Pearl that fans know and love. Steven, Pearl and Volleyball then go to The Reef, where pearls are made, to fix her, but this just ends in chaos. Even Steven’s healing power can’t help her. ![]() Pink Pearl, nicknamed Volleyball, reaches out to Steven to heal her eye that was cracked by Pink Diamond. The last episode of this limited series is the best one. This episode sparks the question of whether or not Steven will ever forgive his mom. I felt like I was a part of this family and I wasn’t ready to meet another Rose Quartz after the last one caused so much controversy. Steven, Amethyst, Pearl, Garnet and even Steven’s dad, Greg, feel uncomfortable around the trio of Rose Quartzes because they look just like Steven’s late mother. Steven reunites with the humans from the zoo and meets the old Rose Quartzes that were bubbled away. Steven tries to fix this situation, which leads to a disaster that both Steven and Amethyst have to fix. The Gems perform a job based on their natural skills, but Steven raises the point that Gems shouldn’t be forced to do what they are “meant to do,” but instead should be free to discover new hidden talents. In episode two, Amethyst introduces Steven to the Gem Human Excellence Mentorship (GHEM), where a Gem is teamed up with a human to put their skills to work. The first episode provides a great overlook of what to expect for the rest of the season, and it is exciting see what this power is and how Steven will face this problem. This power shows a darker side to Steven and he must come face-to-face with his inner demons. After being away so long from my favorite antagonist, Jasper is back and I couldn’t contain my excitement when she came on the screen.Īs Steven tries to make things right with Jasper, they get into a fight and Steven awakens a new power that he did not have before. Jasper is still stuck in the past and holds many grudges. Jasper makes her return in “Steven Universe Future.” Photo courtesy of Cartoon Network ![]()
